The bye week came at a good time for LC. Coming off a grueling early season schedule, a time of rest and preparation was much needed.
LC's surprising 3-1 start has people around town excited, and people around the state talking about the resurrection of Patriot football. Thanks to Coach French and his staff, LC is a legitimate football program again.
The Pats head into hostile territory this Friday night to continue their annual battle with border rival Rockcastle County. RC enters the game angry, coming off two straight losses. The Rockets have failed to score in their last two contest, losing to Knox Central and Bell County.
Rockcastle will be angry and ready to play. Hopefully the Patriots will be too. They have had two weeks to prepare, and are coming off their best offensive performance of the season. These two programs have had very good games two out of the last three seasons. The only blowout in those three came last time LC ventured to Rockcastle County, which is a very hard place to win.
The team needs more great fan support (like the Merger County game). That was the best fan performance I have seen in years. Get down to Renfro Valley and support the team. Better yet, someone get we don't, we don't, we don't mess around fired back up.

I love the We don't cheer. It is truly unique to Lincoln football. I'd love to hear it in the stands everytime we score at Rockcastle this week. You can put it on the boooooooard!!!!! Touchdown Lincoln County!

Patriot domination continues and the boys roll 40-14. Another prediction...Noah Keeton gets his 1st TD reception. I get double points if it happens boys. We don't, we don't, we don't mess around Rock heads.
LC's schedule hasn't turned out to be as tough as I thought it was going to be. Rock is down, loss at Knox Central?? What's up with that. I'm still not sold on Lincoln's offense. I wish they would just line up and run down somebody's throat like the old days. I really hate the wing-t.

dont really know what that comment about weak schedule is all about. Knox Central has only lost at Bell, and by less than we lost to them at home, and Corbin. Just because you have never heard of a team, and they are not from Lex or Louisville, doesnt mean they cant play football.
Rockcastle is a good team. Lincoln is a good team. I believe that if you look, both teams have played tough schedules. a loss to Bell county will appear on a lot of resumes after the season. a loss to knox central by rock is not a sign of weakness.
I don't know why anyone would think that LC's schedule is not tough. Rock having lost their last two only makes that game harder for LC. Bell, Bardstown, Hop-town, Scott, Pulaski, I don't think that's lightweight by any means. I believe Lincoln's offense has improved every game. I thought Brummett and Spicer ran it down Southwestern's throat last game. I want us to be solid offensively, meaning we need to run and pass. I don't think you can win a state championship in 5A without having some passing ability. I think the game has changed...but I do love smash mouth football. Heck I'd run the stinking option if I was coaching, we'd never win a game with me coaching, but we would be running some option baby, Old School Notre Dame style.
