Best Player's All-Time (Running Backs)

I will give you my opinion on the best all-time running backs, in no particular order:

Jeremy Simpson (Mr. Football 1993)
Michael Penman (State's leading rusher and scorer 1988)
Mike McGuffy
Donnell Smith
Kevin "Big K" Alcorn
Kenny Phoenix
Maurice Napier
Braxston Miller
Trent Calhoun
Scottie Newcomb
David Francis
Aaron Simpson

I did this without looking at a list. Who else?

Davey Francis has to be on there. He along with Aaron Simpson were the first 2 backs to both rush for 1000 yds.

Josh Morgan rushed for 1000 yds in the late 90's.

M. Penman and Simpson have to be the leaders.

Miller and Calhoun are the only two who have went D1 though

I think both Jeremy Simpson and Mike Penman are the two best to play at Lincoln. But lets remember the lines also. Penman ran behind a line that was bigger than any small college line in KY at the time. Talked to a guy who coached at G-town College and was at Scott Co. HS the year that Penman was a senior. The tackles and guards for Lincoln were bigger, at every position on the O-line than G-towns the same year. Believe that G-town won a playoff game or two that year.

how bout Rodney Turpin and Dewayne Green. Neither of those were slouches.

..Bobby Johnson also went to G-town but blew a knee...

Duane Green, Rodney Turpin and Bobby Johnson were all solid running backs.

Rodney Turpin had 6 rushing touchdowns in a game against Casey County in 1985. No one has rushed for more in a game.

After a stint in the Army, he came back to Campbellsville College (now University) and became an NAIA All-American. He is now the head coach at Taylor County.
