Pats Drop Home Opener, 61-49

The Russell County Lakers played spoiler for the second year in a row to the Lincoln County Patriots. Last year the Pats ventured to Russell County and lost. This year, they hosted the Lakers and lost again.

The Pats got off to a great start, and led 17-9 at the end of the first quarter. Foul trouble and good shooting by the Lakers allowed them to take control of the game in the second and third quarters. They eventually built a 17 point lead before LC decided to make a comeback.

LC cut the lead to six with a minute to go, but it was too little too late. The Lakers held on to win by a final score of 61-49.

Scoring:

Zack Hill-17pts
Matt Cooper-14pts

50-48, Lady Pats Knock Off Lexington Catholic

The Lady Pats used a 15-4 run in the 3rd quarter to erase a 10 point halftime deficit. This was a statement win for LC, it's a big deal to go to Lexington and knock off Catholic. The Lady Pats have raced off to a 2-0 start and have a huge regional game against Rockcastle County on Friday night.

The play of the game was a huge block by senior center Kendra Brown. She rejected a potential game tying shot by Lex Cath with five seconds left in the game. Huge play.
