Best Coach in Area?

While soaking in the win from Friday night, something amazing dawned on me. Coach French is undefeated against Danville, Mercer and Garrard (big deal). He has not coached against Boyle County, but I think we all know what would happen there.

I don't feel like he gets enough credit for the difference he has made at Lincoln County. The program was in bad shape when he arrived here. He has worked miracles.

In consecutive weeks the Patriots have ended the longest regular season win streak (22 games by Bardstown) and the states longest consecutive game winning streak (17 by Mercer). It is an amazing job by Coach French, his staff and the players.

The win at Merger, uh-I mean Mercer, was the first in the history academy award winning Titans. You had to love the "we are the titans" (freshly stolen from napster) playing as the team ran onto the field. Man, that was original.

The Mercer fans and parents did not take well to the lost either. It has been rumored by many sources close to the Mercer program that coaches and parents had to be separated after game. I guess when you haven't lost for two years, it is hard to deal with.

The inability of the Titan fans and coaches to cope with adversity (losing) seems ironic to me. The disney movie, "Remember the Titans", taught us how to get along with one another and band together.

Oh well, at least they didn't steal everything from the movie.

I really like Coach French and the job he is doing at Lincoln County but I don't think he would call the forfeit win against Danville anything other than a forfeit win.

The kid who played did not change the outcome of that game. It is a win only in the record books.

Good point. Lincoln DID NOT beat Danville, they never have and never could.

Coach French did lose in his first year to Garrard by 5 when crutchfield was QB, the first drive a lincoln reciever fumbled going into the endzone and resulted in a touchback, and the difference in the game.

We'd beat Danville this year if we played them. They're no better than Bardstown. And I'm making my Garrard prediction early and I say we'll beat them by 4 touchdowns. They don't have Crutchfield anymore...

Didn't Lincoln beat Danville in 88? Somebody check on that for "Anonymous". See Waterboy comment directly above under "Lay it on Me Patriot Faithful". Grow a pair

Correctomundo kitchenutensil, Lincoln did beat Danville 20-0 in 1988.

Yes LC did lose in their first year against Garrard. I forgot about that. Was that the game LC had a lot of turnovers, including a fumble on the 2 yard line a pass play?

Maybe the best coach if that area doesn't include Danville.

Why don't you guys who love Danville so much get on their website and write Sam Harp some love letters, maybe he'll let you wear his letter jacket.

I remember when we use to rock Lincoln

Hey maybe all of those danville fans can explain why many of their best players over the years had addresses other than danville. But dont use the RECRUIT word because we all know that is a sin only the private schools commit.

I bet the dville SR.s dont want any of the PATS!!! YOU can ask them why.

I'm a little slow, so I don't follow on that last comment. Help a brother out with an explanation.

Historically, Dvilles Sr class has not faired well against LC in any sport.

The record book shows that out of 22 games, Danville has beaten Lincoln County 20 out of 22 games.

It is what it is. Congrats to the Ads for being the only program in the whole state to dominate LCHS to such an extent in football.
