The Patriots head down to chicken-town this weekend for a district clash with the South Laurel Cardinals. LC enters the contest ranked 23rd overall in the state and 8th in 5a. http://www.kentucky.com/292/story/190940.html
The Cards enter the contest with a record of 2-3. They are coming off an impressive performance against district foe Pulaski County, losing 33-26. The only common opponent with LC is Southwestern Pulaski. Southwestern beat them 41-17 the third week of the season in Somerset.
South Laurel will test LC's pass defense, they are a pass-happy offense throwing much more than they run. The two teams style of play are as different as night in day. South Laurel likes to get involved in high scoring affairs, evident by their season totals. They have scored 146 pts and gave up 150. Compare that to LC, who brings the fifth best defense in 5a to table. LC has only gave up 82 pts the entire season. The Pats have scored 100.
The key is finding a consistent offense, they can produce points. LC is a defensive oriented team. A little offensive to help out the defense wouldn't be bad. With South Laurels track record for giving up points, this should be the week to get the offensive engine running.
One advantage for LC is that world famous chicken festival was last weekend. Hopefully the Cards will have fried chicken hangover.

My prediction....Patriot "Black Shirt" defense smashes everything in London and Rogers rifles the rock to my two favorite receivers Keeton and Young "The K-Y connection" as they both find the endzone. Also predict that the defense gets another TD, who's going to step up and make a play??? Lincoln goes undefeated through district play and crushes the cardinals 41-21. Would love to see Big Bad Denson knocking some skulls this weekend. I'm talking Sportscenter highlights, Pontiac Game changing performances, crowd oooing and aahing, "you got jacked up!" hitting. Let's go Black shirts!!!!!
