The Lincoln County Patriots take their seven game winning streak on the road this week to play the Scott County Cardinals. This matchup displays one of the top 5a teams in the state against one the state's best 6a squads.
Scott County enters the game 7-1, with their only loss this year coming at home against Lexington Catholic 38-7. Scott is averaging 30pts per game and is giving up 17pts per game.
Lincoln County also enters the game 7-1, and undefeated in district play. Lincoln is averaging 26pts per game and is giving up mere 13pts per contest. Somewhat skewed by the points given up at the end of the South Laurel game.
Both squads play a good brand of football. Scott County does it with speed. Lincoln does it with power. If the Patriots can handle the speed of the Cardinals, they will have good chance at pulling off the upset. LC will be one of the most physical teams Scott has played this year, I'm picking the upset on the road.

This is going to be the most difficult test for Lincoln since the Death Valley Bowl. I'll take Lincoln in a squeaker 14-13. Coach French's defense makes a stand to win the game in the 4th quarter. If you can't make the game, tune in to the broadcast. The play-by-play guy is really good and should get job offers from several SEC radio network stations.
I heard he got an offer from the University of Tennessee, but it was only a nickle more on the hour than he was making at Lincoln.

You're right, that's the most logical comment made on this post. This post started out as a prediction post but ran wild after people started pressing my buttons. Let's get back on point...I talked with some of the players this evening and they are ready for Scott Co. They've had a good week of practice and will be ready to add another chapter to this great season. Good luck Patriots.

Unfortunately the Patriots lost to Scott County 20-18. Hopefully we'll finish the regular season off with a win over Hoptown.
