Pats Fall in the Mud, 27-0

The Patriots travelled to Meade County to face the the Green Wave on Friday night. A pretty fitting mascot for the conditions, is was a sloppy game.

Weather conditions weren't to kind. Many local teams cancelled their games and rescheduled. LC made the 2 plus hour voyage to play 6a Meade County on their home field in the pouring rain. The outcome wasn't to pretty for the Pats, losing 27-0. First shutout of the season, and just a miserable game.

The field was in awful shape, it rained non-stop and LC was dominated. The lineman for MC dominated the game on both sides of the ball. They enabled their backs to run the ball, and prevented LC's from having any holes to run through. MC held LC to 104 yards, and only 3 passing yards.

One bright spot for the Pats was sophomore Deon Shannon. Shannon led the Pats with 74 yards rushing. LC will venture back into district play next week when they travel to Mercer County for a very important contest. LC will be 1-6 and Mercer County will be 0-8. The winner will more than likely claim the last playoff spot in the district.

On the injury front, LC TE/DE/P Matt DeBoard suffered an injury in the 1st quarter and was escorted off the field on a stretcher. It was thought they he had a dislocated elbow. Hopefully he is ok. Also LC was without the services of one of the best defensive players. Vinny Morris was not in uniform last night due to injury.
