LC Wins On Senior Night

LC had been showing signs of improvement, and it finally paid off on Friday night in Death Valley. The Pats put their first complete game together, and defeated their border rival 14-7 on Senior/Homecoming night.

The game, due to the high winds and muddy field, was going to be won in the trenches. And LC dominated there. The Pats pushed back the Golden Lion line all night long. They ran with success all night, the only problem was they couldn't get on the field in the first half. GC did a good job of holding the ball.

Finally, they got on the scoreboard in the 3rd quarter on a 1 yd QB sneak by Austin Hinds. They followed the up with a Matt Carrier td run in the 4th to go up 14-0. Carrier finished the game with 129 yds rushing and the one score. GC quickly answered on a 70 middle screen pass to Tyler Ray, Ray broke four tackles on his way to the end zone. An amazing run by Ray, but aside from that play, LC pretty much bottled up the Golden Lions.

I was glad to see the seniors go out with a win. It's been a difficult couple of years for the boys. But, they have had tremendous careers and have set the way for the future of LC football and the Settles era. I truly believe they are on the right path and will make big strides next year. But for now, everyone enjoy the win, it was much needed and hard earned.

Sad to see football end, but at least it was on a winning note.
