Pats Get Blown Out

Lincoln lost 54-27 to Pulaski County. Not much good to take away from this game, after the first quarter. The Pats led 13-12 after the first and did score again until the fourth quarter. They trail 54-13 going into the fourth quarter.

The team played with little effort on the defensive side of the ball, and the offense never could get going because of fumbles and penalties. The lost puts the Pats at 1-7, with road games against Scott Co. and Hopkinsville still to come.

Better luck next week, people please get out and support this team. The crowd tonight was awful. I know it was bad weather and all....... but that was one of the worse crowds I have ever seen for an LC road game.

next year will not be any better

Yes, I think next year will be better, coach Settles will make some changes to his staff, plus the JV team has played well this year. Lincoln will be back!!!!!

Its time to put the Sr's on the bench and start playing guys who are going to help you next year. I know that sounds bad, but thats how it is.

u r crazy, we have a great senior players, where would this team be without them, its the underclassmen you have hurt this team, if you look at the stats, the seniors are leading in every stat, they were a vital part of last years winning team and i cant not believe u are so blind to the facts...

What does stats matter when the team has only won one game. Lincoln does have Sr's that play hard, but there are only 2 games in this season, time to start building for next year.

stats show who is leading the team and it certainly is not any of the sophomores or freshmen, this year has been a rebuilding year with all the young players we have, plus you can't blame it all on the players, our coaches have to accept responsibility for this also, hopefully the seniors will not let these comments hurt them and WILL choose to play the last 2 games, you obviously did not see the emotion of some of the seniors after senior night

Your right, Lincoln needs to continue to play the Seniors. When you keep talking about stats, football takes 11 guys on the same page, not guys who are worried about their own stats. Maybe that is the problem Lincoln has right now. 1-7 but some of them had great stats. Plus if you have to count on Freshmen and Sophomores then there is a problem. Good luck to Lincoln the rest of the year. It can only get better.

Who says bench the seniors? Surely, you have not been watching them play! Our seniors have all had great careers! They play every game to win. Surely all Lincoln fans can see that they are leaders both on and off the field. Good luck to our team and let's continue to support all of our boys. It takes alot of dedication, time and effort to play football. Let's continue to show the team that we support them in their efforts.

Keep up the good work seniors! You have kept on going through a lot of adversity this year. It's not easy starting over with a new coach and a whole new game plan your senior year.
Thanks for leading the team through injuries, losses and a very tough schedule. Keep your heads up and know that Lincoln fans know your value.

i don't think any of our seniors are worried about individual stats, but it does show who is getting the job done, maybe you should talk to coach yeast about that....he had very impressive stats while at harrodsburg that led him to uk

Who is getting the job done? 1-7.

Rob Conatser is the Teams MVP, hands down!!

Anonymous said...

how do you figure that? I would say this team has 3 MVPs... Edwards, Conatser and Gilbert would be my pick.. i believe gilbert is the only senior to play every game injury free..Edwards has battled injuries all season and has continued to lead this team, Conatser only missed one game with a dislocated elbow which would have sidelined most kids for the season..This is a tough senior class no doubt, although the record might not show it these kids have been a part of something special for 4 years and have been a great foundation for Coach Settles to build on...

Gilbert missed at least 1/2 of the Tates Creek Game with cramps.

okay lets find a way to bring the negativity out of it. the comment said INJURY, i don't believe leg cramps qualifies as an injury. it wasn't half of the game, it was middle of the third quarter.

Does it really matter. We are 1-7 and going to end this season 1-9. I agree with what someone else said. Its time to let some of the younger guys get alittle more playing time. I'm not saying to bench the older guys, but just work the other guys in more. Look what Kentucky did to their QB, if you can't get the job done, try someone else. Its no different in this situation.

the younger guys have been playing all year and we are down to our thrid string qb...where have you been?

Anonymous said...

Younger guys?? The OL most of the PC game consisted of 1 senior, 2 sophs, and a freshman.........

Anonymous said...

those would be considered younger guys

Anonymous said...

3rd string QB is a SR right? And I've been at the games where there about 6 or 7 Sr's on the Def side that is giving up 40 points a game. Not getting the job done????

i am so tired of the seniors getting the blame for all the problems with this team, it takes 11 players to get the job done, it is obvious that the negative comments are coming from a parent of a "younger" player, and i hope when your child is a senior he does not experience a season such as this one! jeree gilbert

A team is only as good as the Seniors they have... You don't win games with young guys. all of the great teams in the past had great Seniors players. But things will be better next year. Can't be no worst.

Anonymous said...

how many seniors will there be next year? 4 or 5 ? and they have all been playing this year, edgington and calhoun will not be able to win by themself!

Anonymous said...

Your right, but with the JV team playing 6 or 7 games, that will Help.It will take a couple of years to get back to the top.. Remenber 4 years ago I think the team only won 2 or 3 games.

Anonymous said...

The problem is not the seniors its having 5 or 6 Juniors, look at last year, all good teams have large contributions from thier Junior class....we only have 5 or 6 on the team.......that can't happen at any level.

Anonymous said...

Your wrong... It starts and Ends with your Seniors! They are your leaders..

Anonymous said...

maybe that's what's wrong with the team it's not all about the seniors or the senior parents it is about all the boys on the team!

Anonymous said...

If you don't have Seniors that can lead on and off the field, plus get along with your underclass. Thats one of the problems this year, none of the Kids like each other,, not a family..

Anonymous said...

I disagree I have a child on the team and he likes all the team and they like him.

I will also have to disagree with the fact that the guys do not get along. Of course there are always gonna be some that don't see eye to eye, but as a whole and because of low numbers I think they have built some close friendships. As for the seniors not being leaders, I will certainly have to disagree with that. If it weren't for some of those guys there would be even fewer on the team. Early in the season there were several of the younger players who were ready to just hang it up, but it was some of the seniors who encouraged and supported them. Leadership is about character and while these guys may not be perfect, show me someone who is. These players have endured a hard season, but never given up. My personal thanks goes out to Skyler Gilbert, Rob Conatser, Chase Marcum, Trey Edwards & Drew Jackson for being the kind of guys that my son, as a freshman, can learn from. Learning how to play hard and never give up, but more importantly learn and understand what it means to be part of a team, so when those younger guys who will come after him want to quit, he will remember the encouragment given to him. Thanks guys!
