Patriots claim the regional championship 43-22 over Johnson Central
Last night in Death Valley, the Lincoln County Patriots showed Johnson Central who the more physical team was by defeating them by 21 points. It was a close first half, but Lincoln dominated the entire second half except for the lone kickoff return by Grimm. Johnson Central came out playing smash mouth football running the same belly play most the the first half. Thanks to having a great coaching staff, adjustments were made enabling the Patriots to stop the ground game. There were several hits in the backfield and tackles for losses. I am very proud of the way the Patriots played with such emotion and intensity. I am going to call out a few names and plays that I believe deserve mentioning....Denson knocking heads in the backfield all night, Young's pick six, Roger's leadership at field general, defensive line domination in second half, Gilbert's aggressiveness at linebacker, Reed for giving us his all this year while playing with his injury. Feel free to add any big plays that stuck in your head, there were so many I can't remember them all. The great thing is that our Lincoln Patriots won the REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!! This will put this team in the elite company of the best teams ever to put on a Patriot uniform, I believe this is only the third or fourth regional championship ever. Patriot players hold your heads high because you will always be remembered as one of the best ever. Years from now, we will be including the '07 team in conversations about great games or players. Congrats to the players and coaching staff on completing a monumental task, we have two more to go! GO PATRIOTS - 2007 REGIONAL CHAMPIONS

I got all caught up in the game and forgot to mention congrats to Coach French for earning Area Coach of the Year. Lincoln County should be proud to have him and his staff.
Congrats to LC and the coaches!Lincoln beat a very good JC team and absolutly dominated the second half,shutting down the JC offense with a smash mouth defensive effort!
Could this be the best LC squad ever? Each week the offense gets better! A offense lead by a outstanding quaterback, who each week makes the plays to lead his team to victory, either handing the ball off to one of three hardnosed running backs or making a perfect pass to a stable of skilled recievers!
All year LC's defense kept Lincoln in the game until the JC game. In Fridays game it seemed to be the other way around. When the D made the adjustments to stop JC, Lincoln poured it on, bringing home the reginal championship!!I SAY AGAIN IS THIS THE BEST TEAM IN THE HISTORY OF LC? I think maybe yes....time will tell. LC has had great teams in the past including last year,but I personaly think this may be the best team because of the....O & D LINE!!!!!THE BIG UGLYS OF 2008 ARE THE BEST!!!! maybe in the history of Lincoln Co.

This team is not even top five best in LC history. Great team, but not even close to best team ever. Now a win vs. Highlands could change that.

I dont think they were at the begining of the year but now....good defense,that can make adjustments during the game....balanced offense that is getting BETTER each week! Also I think the o and d line is doing a great job even though many weeks they face a bigger and stronger line! I think they need at least one more win against a HIGHLANDS (OH YEA!!!)to put them at the top!But regardless of the outcome Friday night this team is AWESOME!---------------------------------------GO PATS--------------------------------------------
