Rumor has it that Lincoln County has changed its mind about who its offensive coordinator is going to be next season. This is a fast change, even for Lincoln County standards. LC has had a different offensive coordinator every year for many years now.
Craig Yeast was set to run the offense this year. I was pretty excited about it, it's not every day that an ex-NFL player is running a high school offense. Hopefully this is nothing more than a rumor and the coaching staff will remain the same.

This is a crock of crap! They ran him off because of a select few decided that he cursed on the practice field! I think they need to tell the facts of this!! My son and I wanted him to stay but that select few of 4-5 people wanted him gone!!! I am VERY upset who's to say they won't go after Coach Settles next!! People need to let their son's grow up!!!Enough said!
This is complete crap! He is getting fired because he says horse shit. Someone was offended by him using that word. I do not understand LC. This program has a chance to become very successful over the next few years and all they can do is take it out on Craig.
I will be moving my son to another county to go to school if they really let him go.

Well now let's not all get ahead of ourselves Coach Yeast has not been let go just yet!!! Maybe the 4 or 5 people who complained didn't count on the 20 or 25 people whose parents that really like him you know if your child doesn't like to be yelled at then maybe the TENNIS TEAM WILL TAKE THEM OR JUST LEAVE THEM HOME WITH YOU!
Why is he not coaching in Mercer County? Isn't that where he was from? Why is Mercer, Danville or Boyle not jumping on him like Lincoln since he is supposedly so great?
Two of the last three offensive coordinator got head coaching jobs, can't blame them for leaving. The third came out of retirement as a favor to Coach French, and everyone knew it was one and done with him. The retention of an offensive coordinator has been a problem, but this is a completely different animal. Fired for salty language, what a joke. I am sure those that are doing the firing have done much worse.
I don't think Tim Godbey curses, so I might rethink that statement. He is the one that has the authority to fire a coach.

It is nice that you don't think he is going anywhere. He spoke to the boys and personally spoke to some of the parents and as far as he was concerned he was being fired.

all the boys that have a problem with language on the football field should just join the cheerleading team.. coach yeast probably has more football knowledge than anyone on the staff, yeah he cusses, so what, football is a ruthless, violent sport.. the only thing he was trying to do was to get the best out of the players.. parents shouldn't be allowed to loiter around the practice fields anyways, this isn't little league anymore, drop your kid off at practice and leave, and stop watching out for your kiddies, if you don't like the language he uses then take your kid to the soccer team I'm sure they don't use bad language over there, all they do is well... should i say anymore... this really angers me that they would fire yeast, i played for yeast last season and was a captain, and i can't tell you how many times he got in my face and screamed and yelled and so on but he got the best out of me & i didn't go cry to mommy about how mean ole coach yeast yelled at me, what happens on the field stays on the field, only people who have ever played will ever be able to understand this concept.. the pansies out there need to grow up real fast, if u plan on playing in college mommy won't be there to run & cry to the principal for you so get used to it and grow some..
I have to ask the same question that was asked above. Why is he not at Mercer? That is his hometown. You would think that Marty would love to have a UK football player on his team to help.
Mercer at Harrodsburg. That merge caused a lot of hard feelings, that might have something to do with it.

I got an email that said that the boys are playing at home tonight...
On Friday night (May 1), the High School Varsity Team will play Garrard County at home at 7:30pm. This is a district game and must be made up before May 3. The Middle School also has a district game that they must get in so they will play their "A" Team Game at 5pm. Thus, there will be no Middle School "B" Team game nor will there be a High School JV game.

Time will tell. I think a coach has to put the best team on the field he can, and last year you had at times 5 to 7 Soft, on the field, some went both ways. And these kids only had one game as a Fresh, and you can think the French for that. These kids are a lot better this year and we will only have 1 to 3 soft on the field this year. And some if not most of that SR'S class last year was havening a hangover most of the time or cramps. Lincoln will win at least 5 or 6 this year.

I think Coach Settles will do a good job if he is given the time and resources to build a "program". It's one thing to put a good season or two together, especially when you have a lot of talent on a roster. But sustained success should be the goal.
You got to start them young to achieve this. Involvment with the Little League program, the middle school needs to be running the same stuff as the high school, and teh off season programs have to be better. By better I mean more involvment. You can't be satisfied with what you get, you have to work the hallways.
I think this staff is taking the correct actions to accomplish these things, but it will take time to get it done.
If you bring your kid up to be a quitter and to think life is easy let him quit.
But we all know life is hard and coach Mr NFL has got your kids best interest at heart. Just go crawl back under that rock you came out from and just drop it.

We have 3 or 4 good seniors this year and we will be OK 4 to 6 wins, but the year after we will have 15 or more seniors and if you people don't run off Yeast the offense will be hitting on all 15cyl........

It doesn't matter if the defense isn't any better this year. LC actually led in 5 ballgames last year, the defense was statistically the worst if LC history.

Yeah, it had nothing to do with the kids playing on the field. When things go right it is the kids, when things go wrong it is on the coaches.
This Junior Class is not strong enough to take Lincoln to the state. If the Soph. class steps up they might be.
LOL you all crack me up! Look what happened at UK in the basketball department this year, they hired the wrong coach the first time around when they should have hired Coach Cal in the first place! We have GREAT coaches NOW and people are already talking about replacing them that's the problem with the boys they hear all this crap about replacing THEIR coaches NOT YOUR coaches and they get discouraged!! Is their anyplace in this state with as much talent as LC has on staff here? Nope I asked a Pulaski Co. ex football player and he said he only wished he could have played for these coached LC has now and a bunch of you all want to already fire them get real!! My son is a up and coming freshman and he is looking forward to playing is full 4 years with these coaches that are here now ALL 4 years and bring home championships to LC again!!! So leave it alone and see what happens and support them!!!!!! I think the world of all the coaches and all the young men on the team!!!
I heard we had another kid quit this week' WONDER WHY?
I haven't heard anything about it from my son and he's on the team and if these kids can't take it they need to leave!! If parents let them quit what are these kids learning from quiting? Are they just going to quit jobs anytime they want to? They better learn about life and learn to start growing up! What happens when they don't have mommie and daddy anymore? You can tell kids at that school are spoiled by the cars they drive! They drive better cars than even the parents and the teachers that teach them and the parents pay for EVERYTHING what's that teaching them? NOTHING!! that everything is handed to them and that isn't life that's for sure you have to work for what you get! That's why this country is in the shape it's in right now, handouts!!!!!!

Oh my goodness! I did ask my son who quit and he told me and I was kind of shocked he was a future freshman wasn't he? That's the only one that my son knew of that has quit and if they keep dropping then we won't have a freshmen team! But we won't need one if they can't take it anyways but I wish they would grow up and become young men and quit riding on their parents coat tails all the time good grief!!
The best coaching staff in the state and they won one game...Lincoln has the great talent as someone said in another post and they won one game last year. The Def game up more points in school history, but we have the best coaching state in the state?????? A kid from PC said he wish he could have played for this staff, didn't PC beat Lincoln last year?? If Lincoln does not win 4 games this year then it is time for a change. Did Settles buy a house in Lincoln? He might not be planning on staying anyway. How many of the coaches on staff live in Lincoln Co?

I'm sorry to ruin the theory, but that team last year was one of the least talented teams in the history of the program. There was a few decent starters but no depth. The team had no size, no speed and no depth. Not to mention they had their 4th new offense in 4 seasons. Coach French may of won a few games, but he left the program in bad shape.

Well, well, well...where should I begin. It boggles my mind that people would not be excited to have someone coach their kids that is obviously passionate about the game of football. That's why he coaches the way he does. He knows first hand where hard work will take you, and it pisses him off when he sees athletes giving piss poor effort. That's all it boils down to. So if he feels like he needs to say horsesh$$ or another word that some may find offensive in order to get theto play with passion...so be it.I know my kid will only give you as much as you require - so having someone demand it from him is a good thing! I played a sport in college and guess what...it's no walk in the park. It's better to be coached "hard" now then to show up and think you'll get a lot of "Good Job Billy's" at the next level. The few parents that have such a problem with someone else expecting the best from their kids need to take them home, put a bib around their necks, stick a bottle in their mouth, and keep them the hell away from the football field. If I have a teammate that is so soft that he runs home to tell momma whenever coach was a little hard on him, I don't want him next to me when the game is on the line. He needs to play golf not football! And believe me, it's evident in the locker room who is still sucking on their mom's tit! So good job to allt he moms/dads that started all of this bull. It's yet another issue that our Patriots don't need to be dealing with as they prepare to start another season. GO PATRIOTS!
To the idiot who asked if Coach Settles bought a house in Lincoln....What does that matter? Why does it matter where the coaching staff lives? Coaches have kids, wives, jobs etc...that they can't just pick up and move if they didn't already live where they coach.
Besides, what does Stanford/Lincoln Co. have to offer that anyone would want to move here anyway? You must not realize that these coaches aren't paid much, so there's really no incentive for them to move. Would it make them a better coach if they had an address in Lincoln? No! You'd just find something else to complain about.
They spend time away from their families, not to mention their own kids, to do what they can to get Lincoln football where it belongs. The least you could do is be supportive, recognize that it's hard to build a program with less talent than they've had in the past, and stop posting stupid comments that aren't at all relevant to the situation!

our "beloved basketball coach" won 2 regional basketball championships, district winner this year....exceeded what most people thought this team would do, has had the 12th region player of the year the past two years, has been coach of the year, i can not believe anyone would drag him into the football year from hell!
Lincoln will always be a football school. Can you name how many District and regional Champships Lincoln has in Football? Well it is more then Basketball and Baseball put together. ENOUGH SAID..

What kind of comment is the previous post asking why Tim would have a camp with Craig?! Obviously that person doens't know the history between the two. Tim wouldn't have been sh** if it wasn't for Craig catching a 3 yard pass and turning it into a 45 yard gain. Do your homework before you say stupid stuff! I WAS MUCH TOUGHER ON THEM BECAUSE THEY WERE LESS TALENTED BUT THEIR PARENTS NEVER WENT BEHIND MY BACK IF THEY HAD A PROBLEM. AS A RESULT THAT TEAM SCORED ALOT OF POINTS AND WON 10 OUT OF 12 GAMES BECAUSE THEY WORKED HARD ALL THE TIME AND THEIR PARENTS LET THEM GROW UP!

Well said Coach Yeast. My son finally got to join you today FINALLY and you already know how our family feels about you. Looking forward to four years of you and the rest of the coaches teaching my son and the other boys all you can!

I am excited about the season, I think the staff will do a great job. They just need the time to build the program. It will take time...
I am glad to see that Coach Yeast visits this site. However I'm sad to see that he had to see some negative remarks, but at least he got to see that he had support also. I attended several practices last year just to watch the team and coaches. I didn't have a kid playing, so I have no vested interest other than pride for the program. I paid close attention to the way Coach Yeast handled himself because I didn't know him. I was very impressed and noticed his intensity especially. I liked the intensity, which shows he has passion for the game. I am supportive of the program overall, which means I will be a supporter of Yeast and Settles. If you're not doing something positive for the program, then you're doing something negative.
And for all of the people who complain about my picture of basketball. Sorry, I didn't even play basketball in high school and anyone who knows me knows that I love football. But anyway, my cousin is in that picture and that is the reason it was on this site for so long. But if anyone wants to send a picture of themselves I will gladly post it.
On another note, the reason the comments were removed previously when Coach Jackson was being slammed was because they were malicious. I didn't read anything of any derogatory nature about Coach Yeast other than people saying he said horseshit, which I see as funny. I don't cuss in front of my son, but I hope that's the worst word my son hears in his lifetime.
This will take care of itself. But when things go bad, you Parents who wanted this better not say a word, YOU GOT WHAT YOU WANTED... And as for Yeast posting something on here, if he is getting upset with what people are saying on here, what is he going to do on Friday nights when FANS are questioning every call he makes???Yelling "Yeast you Suck" Is he going to turn to the Fans and tell them, don't you remember what I did at Harrosburg? If you read his post, thats what he does, talks about himself..
So at least he will put himself out their, you hid behind "Anonymous". What's your name? The "Parents who wanted this better not say a word, YOU GOT WHAT YOU WANTED..." These parents will stand for something and give their names.

Read the post again whoever you are. I could care less about what you think or say about me or whether you like me or not. I'm here to coach football and I'm good at it! I wasn't talking about myself. Go back and read the post there's a difference between talking myself up and answering some of your sily questions like what has he ever done! i don't need to talk myself up cause y6ou already know, my backround speaks for itself. Further, i didn't on this site because of what you said about me, it's when you talk about my friends i have a problem with that! You don't know Tim Couch and you certainly don't know me.
Support is the best thing for your son! I came here to coach football and the best interest for your kid is in my heart. You seem to forget that I did not call the offense last year. Get over yourself and cheer for your son. I don't care one bit if you like me or not...I will continue to coach your son hard, I will be tough, there will be a level of expectation for him to achieve and hope it makes him better and helps prepare him for life after high school. Do you expect the best out of your son like i do??? Or do you think whatever you get out of him is ok???
I say this again and for the last time, you know who i am and you know where i will be! At the field every mon and wed trying to help coach Settles build his Football Program at Lincoln County High School. When school is out I will be there pretty much everday. I'm trying to make it easy for you to find me, maybe since you know my schedule you will come speak your peace and stop hiding...I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE!!!!
It seems when people want to leave the negative comments on here they want to hide like cowards why is that? I have never understood that, I have left several comments on here and they have NOT been negative in anyway(didn't leave my name because they wasn't negative). I just think if you want to be a coward and hide, then don't leave a comment if you are going to be negative like that towards someone that is trying to coach our sons and make them into something good, besides Coach Yeast hasn't even touched the field with our son's yet and some of you are turning against him. Give these coaches a chance good grief. I believe you all would condemn Rich Brooks if he was our coach wouldn't you? Nothing is good enough for some of you all! I think we have THE BEST coaches if some of you would just give them the chance to get the right guys on the field a few seasons and coach them! I stood up for Coach Yeast and ALL the coaches with the rest of the parents and will continue to do so, I appreciate them coaching my son and can't wait to see what they do with the guys the next few seasons! GO PATS!!
