Two Lincoln County seniors made the Advocate Messenger All-Area team. Senior lineman Chase Marcum and Senior QB/HB/LB Trey Edwards made the team on defense as a linebacker.
Three more Pats made honorable mention. Those three were Skyler Gilbert, Ben Harris and Rob Conatser. Congratulations to all of these fine young men, and good luck in all you do.

It's stuff like this that keeps younger players from playing.
Skyler was the best linebacker we had.....

The person that started these comments needs to get a life. Your telling me that young kids don't play because they may not make All-Area. Your stupid....
No if you are 2nd your not 1st.
So what other guy was 2nd on stats and got the nod.......
do you go to work everyday and do what is expected of you, never miss a day, loyal to your employer, but someone who doesn't do those things get the promotion or the big raise? don't say that's stupid or it doesn't matter! there is no difference with what happened with the all area team
Honorable mention is where a coach from another school brings your name up... Thats pretty good itself..
question- how do you make the all area team as a linebacker with only 41.5 tackles? answer- you play for danville!
I feel like Skyler should of made the first team on defense. Not to take anything away from anyone else, but he was the best defensive player for LC all year. End of story...
Edwards missed a game and didn't play defense every game. Marcum missed numerous games.
Skyler is nasty just like you like your linebacker to be....
He is the best linebacker out of all the teams that were in this...
He is the peoples choice.
What College is looking at him? Kentucky, Western, Eastern?

Gilbert was first on the team with 113 tackles, 2nd in the area behind the kid from Boyle who has played 2 more games... Just blows my mind how they pick a kid from Danville with 41.5 and Edwards who had 71 over him? Did the coach not turn in his stats or something because this is a mockery...

I didn't put the post that said he had 113 tackles. But does it matter we all know he had more than Edwards.
