The 1-8 Lincoln County Patriots will make the longgggggg trip to Hopkinsville this Friday night to play the Hopkinsville Tigers.
Hopkinsville, led by Head Coach Dixie Jones, enters the contest with a 5-4 (1-2 District) record. The Tigers ventured to Lincoln County last year, the season finale for both teams, and lost. This is the only the second time the two schools have met.
This is a long trip, but get out and support the seniors one last time. Gas prices have went down, the weather has been unusually warm and you will get to see a new place. I doubt many have been to Hop-town. They have a very nice stadium and a lot of football tradition. It's a long drive but an easy one.
The only common opponent is Mercer County. Hopkinsville beat Mercer, in a very close contest, and Lincoln lost badly to Mercer County.

I still can't believe French scheduled a home and away with Hoptown. Mercer is playing Casey, Boyle has Dunbar, Garrard has Frankfort, Danville is off....we would be better off with any of these games....might not be a "w" but at least it isn't 4 hours away.
true, and i'm sure next years schedule will be much easier, there will not be 4 straight away games at the end of the season, and we should schedule some teams that are beatable, scott is ranked 8th in the entire state, hoptown is 5th in 5a

Funny LCs team did not have a problem with the schedule the last two years.It is foolish just to put teams on the schedule just to get a win. To be the best you have to play the best.
Why not put KSD on the schedule, that would be a win I am sure.
Most of the schedule for next year will stay the same, District games you know.
I dont see Boyle Co. running from good good teams. Every team that they play out of district, except Danville, are in a bigger class. Even the last couple years when they were "down" they didnt run away, are we?
Schedule does not need to change the team does.

I completely disagree, scheduling competitive games is a big part of being a head coach, you try lighten up your non-district schedule when your talent level is down, toughen it when you up, and you are wrong, French hated this schedule last year also, ask him. I heard him say it a thousand times.
What is rude and hateful about not crying about about how hard the schedule is.
Fans do not win or lose football games. Good or bad defence, good or bad play calling, good or poor execution win or lose football games.
THIS IS NOT LAST YEARS TEAM OR TALENT. Everyone knew that coming into this season, therefore playing this schedule makes no sense.

We only do the weekly MVP to show support for players and to get them some recgnition. It is fair to everyone. Just remember, it's for the kids...
